hi guys, i just received another alert from my identity thief protection program that BoA pull another hard inquiry on my account.

Here are the inquiries and date, i applied for the travel reward card on Sep 4:

Sep 4 , HP from experian

Sep 12+ 21, 2 HP from Trans union

Does anyone know why BoA pulled 3 HP for only 1 credit card app? What should i do next to get those extra HP removed?Thanks

Did you apply on the 4th? Ask for a CLI? Recon at all?

I have 2: Once when I applied, and once when I asked for a CLI a year later. They haven't randomly pulled my report ever. They do soft pull all reports though (along with all of my other creditors).

Lexie is right though, if you asked for more credit or a recon, this is considered a new request for credit and will be a HP from many creditors.

Lexie, yes i applied on the 4 and they approved a day later, so i didn't need to call for recon and definitely not request increase CL. On Sep 11 i saw the 2nd inquiry, call the backdoor number, they said they will look at the issue and now a 3rd inquiry pop up, unbelievable! My wife add me as AU on her BoA, but they dont HP AU right?

i would definitely ask BOFA about that other inquiry...if it's unwarranted they should be able to remove it...gl and keep us posted

Big Bang, the first inquiry on TU and EX each are legitimate. It just means they double pulled you. Your monitoring service probably had some delay regarding the TU inquiry being reported. As for the 2nd inquiry on TU (your 3rd overall), that one is weird.

When I applied for Travel Rewards, Bank of America used my Experian score but they also hard pulled my TransUnion twice according to Credit Karma. They hard pulled it, removed it, hard pulled it again, then removed it again. These pulls don't matter since they were removed.

I have seen TU report HP's, delete them, then put them back on, all within a matter of days. While you might have received two alerts, there is a good chance you only have one HP. You might want to check your full report to verify that there are two pulls.

Hopefully it is just delayed alerts. It is definitely worth a phone call though. Keep us updated on what they say if/when you call.

WOW GUYS! This keeps happening to me too!

They pulled Tu and Exp, but CK keeps adding and removing another inuiry on Sept 12th. THe original two were from 9/03 and 9/04.

According to Credit Karma, BOA HP me about 2 weeks after approval. I have a paper copy of my report I will check it against. This was in August and I thought it was weird, but I didn't pay much attention to it.

hey guys, so i pulled my 3 bureaus credit reports today from protection service. The 1st inquiry from BoA on the sep 4, the day i applied, detailed as Bank credit card, the other 2 extra inquiries detail as Banks and S&Ls<== any one know whats that means?

S&L refers to savings and loans, if I am not wrong.

did the credit card application also authorize them to do this? BoA mailed me this : We have notified the approriate consumer reporting agencies and asked them to remove the inquiry....take up to 60 days for your credit file....,please contact....at this time consider the inquiry resolved

BofA did this to me, as well.

I app'd on 9/3/13, they pulled TU. Received the card on the 9th and activated it. Next day, I receive an alert saying a new inquiry from BofA dated 9/9/13 was reported on TU. Not sure if the act of activating the card is what caused the second inquiry. I called them up, they submitted a request to the analysts to review why the 2nd pull showed up. The next day the inquiry was gone and I received a letter in the mail just yesterday confirming the removal.

I was miffed when I saw the new inquiry but the process of removing the additional inquiry was (for me) rather painless.

I can't check my TU report from transunion.com/myoptions for free for another few days lol... Creditkarma has been adding and removing inqs from BOA and GE for me... It's kind of annoying me.
It could be that the soft pulls from CMS are being bumped off then bumped back on....
I use Quizzle, CredSesame, CK, Exp Plus... Lol..

My GE inquiries were added back, and my BOA from Sept 12th is completely gone now.
