Chase Recon: Approved for Sony Card!!!!!

I just did a RECON on the Sony Card from Chase. I called the recon # 1-888-245-0625 and the lady verified my info and approved me for 2500 CL. WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!! Recons work!! Good-Bye sub-prime slime!!

Congratulations!! So the only reason they denied you before was because they couldn't verify your information?

The original reason for denial was length of time credit has been established. She asked me why I hadn't had credit before 2004. I told her I got out of the credit business for a while and started reestablishing back in 2004 to get a history so I could purchase a home. I strongly recommend reconning Chase if you get denied. The lady at that number was really interested in getting me a card. I had to stay on hold a bit, but it worked.

Yeah, I think I'll Recon WaMu too. Maybe they could show a guy some love? I kinda think I'm on their "black list" or something. They pulled a 677 EX and still denied me

Wow I just noticed that I will get a $130 statement credit when I buy any Sony camera or Sony video recorder with my Sony Card. KOOL!! Plus Pat and Vanna will send me another 50 grand if they call my spin ID number on Wheel of Fortune....LOL

Thanks Syl. Just goes to show ya, the best way to help your score is pay down your debt. Last month I had 90% util on 10 accounts owing about 6 grand, this month I show I'm owing less than $700 on about an $8500 total line of credit. Have gotten 4 approvals since, Chase x2 , Hooters and Amex Gold Delta Sky Miles. And all this with over 60 inquiries in the last year, just on one report.

Good to hear your recon worked at WaMu. I got one in right now. I had to fax them an updated Experian report. It shows a 677 FICO, 8% util. on 10 accounts. With some of the scores that I've seen getting WaMu cards, if I don't get it I'm gonna flat assume I'm blacklisted for some reason. lol.

You gotta love paying down balances, and taking charge of util. It's the quickest way of turning around your scores, and if you have the $$$, you have complete control over the process. (Well, assuming that everyone will PLEASE!!! report, lol.)

That's so great to read! I hope that any newcomers here (and veterans) will read this and see why you don't want to have much of a balance on your CC's.

As I always annoy my adult children by saying: if you have $0 (or nearly so) balances on your cards, you have credit. If you have balances, you don't have credit, you just have debt.

I didn't believe it, but it worked!!!

I got a soft approval for a FIA/BOA Choice Hotels w/ 6k limit...so I called Chase, explained a few things and was approved for a 5k limit in less than 5 minutes...

My scores are all below 600 (but improving) I have managed to get 12 cards in the past month...and now need to chill out for a while and let "Time" do it's thing....

I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for this forum....thanks to EVERYONE!

Thanks! Anyone who has the score simulator can see that NOTHING has an impact on your score in a positive way like paying everything off. (almost) lol. Without all those inquiries I'd probably be over 700. Inquiry dings are just an out for a CCC to use to deny you, IMO. I mean do you ding Chase or B of A when they send you umpteen offers for credit? Do you think they are on the verge of financial collapse because they are trying to jam those offers down your throat? Heck naw! That's business as usual. Well, me apping like a fool for the best deal is business as usual too, then. LOL.
