My statements closed last week &amp; earlier this week so that my utilization reduction won't post until after the 30 day period. In 6 months I have to get a new car so I don't want a lot of inquires on my report so I'm going to wait on the CSP until sometime after I've gotten my car. In the mean time, I still would like a Visa card to round out what I have so that I have one of each. My Citibank Dividend Mastercard is being offered in a Platinum Select Visa option and the Thank You Mastercard comes in standard and Preferred versions. Is it possible to switch from a Mastercard to a Visa? I want a Visa since I like to travel and have found that outside the US different places take one over the other with Cash being preferred. Since I just got the limit increased on both plus a "loyalty" bonus I figure I'll wait a month or two before requesting the change over even though it's a soft pull.
