AMEX payment question

Hi all,

My first statement is about to cut on 10/03 and my account is showing an outstanding balance of $24. When I try to make a payment so it shows $0 balance, it is not allowing me to do so since it states No payment due/ payment not required. In fine print above...it shows payment cannot be made at this time, please see account details.

Anyone know if this is normal? Will I just have to wait and pay this $24 once the statement cuts on the 3rd? I wanted zero balance to report!!!

Update...

Just did further research and found out that I can only make one payment in first 30 days with new checking account enrollment. Did that too soon! Got my own answer but thanks!

If you really want to make a payment and have it report 0, then call AMEX. CS via telephone can make a payment for you even though you can't do it online.

You can always push a payment.
