wondering about CLI with discover

I just noticed on my last statement that my anniversary is next month(2years)

since I have had the card I have had two auto CLI, I was just wondering if the anniversary month will trigger another auto CLI. I do not remmember if this happened the first year.

They changed policy and you can now call and request a SP cli every 90 days... CALL!

Are you sure? I thought someone said that was only for the initial CLI, and 6 month intervals after that.

i took a HP for only $1000 (asked for $4000 increase, wanted $3000 increase), and that was almost 3 months ago, so I'd like to know when I can request another increase.

You can ask them what's the most you can get for a soft pull --- just give them a number and they'll counter... at least on the phone. Online it's easy you just keep hitting backspace and adjusting your number to get your highest SP amount CLI.

Been with them for 2 years and still at 1000.00 really don't think one should have to ask for an increase when they can judge by your paying habit if your are worthy of an increase. Never carry pay in full every month. I have cards that I never have to ask BOFA, NFCU, GE, Citi that give increase when you least expected. Discover have the nerve to want you to call them. Why can't you just request it on line . I refuse to ask for something that should be freely given if you have proven yourself. I pay them anywhere from 300 and more every month. They want see much actions for the next 6 months because extra bonus that I use.

You can request a HP CLI as often as you like, just that your chances of another CLI is slim to none if they just approved for a hp CLI very recently. Generally its best to wait 3-12 months, depending on your credit, income and usage.

You can definitely have CLI's before 6mos to a yr. they changed their policy in July, now it's every 90 days. I have had two since I opened my account in Jan.

I just got a auto CLi about 40 days ago. Do I still need to wait the 90 days even if it's auto?

@stone, no. You can always request for a HP CLI anytime you want. Whether they will give it to you is up in the air.

For sp you can keep calling to see if you are eligible. From my experience discover is pretty negotiable and can be generous for a hp CLI request as well.

maybe ill call im not hopefull though, i got 2 small auto cli's 1st at 6mo then at 9 months and i here i sit at 1900 i thought for sure i would get some auto love at 1 yr but thats come and gone in aug. the request cli button on line is broken for me always says either having tech dificulties or your request can not be process at this time. i am trying to avoid any hard pulls for the remainder of the yr dec i can try for my 6mo 3x cli w/ amx, and i hit 1 yr w/ barclays so im hoping for some good auto love from them @ 6 months they doubled my line

well I just checked and it will be a lil over 90 days when I reach my anniversary date so I think I will wait. and btw I have no balance on the card now but both my CLI increases were auto and when I had a balance. in fact my last CLI came when I was carrying a high balance

I have been on the same mission since my 6th statement and called every month since...same result.. Discover wants a HP...so I cancelled the CLI request each time because at this time I am not ready for a HP ....strong in the garden....LOL

If you happen to use the card a lot, or just want to make good use of the 0% promo, the HP can be well worth it. Depends on the individual I suppose

yea i tried calling them last night no go w/ out a hp, the rep seem to dodge review questions, asked how often are accounts reviewed for cli, she just said earliest it can be done is 90 days from open, then its just perodic, whouldn't say how often just they do from time to time, asked if all are hard pulls or do they do give any on soft pulls, she said well first they would check interal records to see if was elegible if not then they could do a hp, so i said ok check interal and she asked me how much i said 1k no we need a hp do you want to cont? nope ok i will withdrawl the app and cancel the request
