Sallie Mae MC requirements. UPDATE!!!!!

What is the credit score needed to be approved for this card?

For those who have been approved score & length of history?

My AAoA is only 2yr 6 months. EQ 733 EX 715
I do have 5 inquiries. No baddies though.

Judging from your sig alone, you should be fine. AAoA (rounded) is what mine was and your scores are over 700. You don't need to get approved for 5K either if you are fine just getting the card and don't care about the world version as much. I'm not sure what my score was when they pulled though.

Ok I didn't know for sure on the World MC / 5k.
I really like the idea of 5% cash back gas & groceries so that's why I'm interested. It is capped art $250 each a month but I'm ok with that. I don't need the 5k limit I will be PIF though it'd be nice.

Bears.. I don't know my TU :-( I guess I sHould find out. It was 682 18 months ago when I had shorter AAoA & my other scores were lower so I think TU would have risen?

I was just approved for the World MasterCard with $11300 CL. TU score is 763, AAoA is 4 years, 1 inquiry. I don't imagine the approval criteria to be too stringent given the target audience, namely students and young people. The rewards on the card however are excellent.

I read that myfico uses outdated TU model so score won't be accurate if I buy it?

I really want app but don't want denial.

@morerewards, don't worry too much about the actual score. It's just one of the many factors that determine approval odds. Its much more efficient if you work on what's in your report instead rather than the score.

Barclays will almost def pull your TU report. If you have fewer than 6 new accounts this year and no negs you should be good

Ok. I'd like to get walmart card just for the TU score monitoring, They will pull TU too right? Should I apply for both at the same time? How long does it take for hard inquiries to show up on my report.

Hard pulls will show almost instantly. If you want both, I would go for Sallie Mae first, then Walmart.

I had inquiries Disc 7/12, Cap1 4/13, USDA 6/13, my bank & Chase both 7/13
