Multifunctional combo card

Have you ever heard of two cards being combined into one account? Sure would come in handy with Freedom and CSP. One hard inquiry and one new account! Plus the total credit is limited by the one income anyway.

Or if the CSP was 5% rotating, 2% dining/travel, and 1% everything else. That would not suck at all.

not too sure if its the same thing, but the "multifunctional" card i have from chase is the chase militarystar mastercard. there are two tradelines tied to once card, one is aafes and one is chase.

You want something like the Sallie Mae rewards card, with its three 5% categories. Or the US Bank Cash+ with two user-selectable 5% categories and one selectable 2% category. That is the closest thing to multi functional you're gonna find.

Banks like Chase know that lots of people will get the Shiny metal CSP and start using it for things that the Freedom would give better rewards, and justify it by saying they dont want to carry extra cards, or they just like showing off the CSP, or whatever. The reason doesn't matter, its just human nature than many will do that. The more the banks can get people to use a card for a wide spectrum of purchases rather than just the category the card gives it best benefits on, the more profit for the Bank.

I haven't tried it but I think what you're looking for is the Wallaby card. You add all your accounts to the Wallaby card and when you pay for something it's supposed to charge the account that has the highest rewards for that category. I've been signed up for it for quite a while now. They did launch the phone app and card optimizer (phone app tells you what card would be best option for local businesses, optimizer gives you suggestions on what card to get based on your current spending + card profiles) but they are yet to actually launch the credit card. Hopefully soon!
