Will Amex backdate to an old business card?

I just remembered I had an Amex from a company I worked for briefly in 2011. It was a gold business card, I'm guessing I was added as an authorized user to that company's business account. I've just been approved for my own Business Platinum and a personal PRG so was wondering if they'd backdate them? I know it's not that long ago, but even a couple of years would help my AAoA a little bit.

I was issued the Plum Card by a former employer back in 2008.

Before I applied for the BCE I called Amex and asked if I would be considered a member since 2008 because of the business card I had before.

I was advised that Amex will NOT backdate any new card I get as my history is from a business account and does not count towards backdating.

I ended up applying for the BCE anyway and patiently waited for it to arrive.

Once the card arrived I completed my online setup and even though my card said member since 13 my account page said member since 08.

I called in to inquire about the discrepancy and after many apologies my new card with 08 member since date was on the way.

So, it seems they do count an AU on a business account as your member since date. At least in my case anyway.

It is hit or miss. It doesn't matter on your business card since that won't generally count toward AAoA.

Thank-you both. If it doesn't count towards the AAoA then I'm not really fussed... I don't care what the year says on the card.
