Hmmmm/ Suspicious, Blank E-mail From First National Bank

Yesterday I got an e-mail from First National Bank with the subject line "Your Credit Line Confirmed."

When I opened it, it was absolutely blank. I had not remembered applying with them, but I have been applying everywhere since January. In fact, I had not even heard of them until yesterday. I figured maybe I applied for a store card of theirs or something.

When I called their CS, the guy asked me a lot of questions... phone number, address, soc.... Then said there were no applications on file for me. Now, I am suspicious. Could this we some sort of scam, perhaps from a CA? I hear they are getting trickier, not that I should have any new collections out there, but sitll it was all odd!

I would be very concerned that someone has all of your personal information - possible that it wasn't the bank. Have you googled the phone number to see if you can identify it?

Well, this is the e-mail address it came from firstnational@lakewatchakares.com. Since the e-mail was completely blank, I Googled and called First National Bank of Omaha http://www.firstnational.com/001/html/en/personal/personal.html. They were the ones who did not have any info about the account. I felt a little better when I realized I heard other CSRs in the back talking to customers about credit card and bank accounts. They seem legit, but maybe I should look into it more. Hmmm, looking at that e-mail address, I dunno about that one.

I wonder if they are connected to GEMB. I Have applied for a few of their accounts over the past few days. I am going to reply to the e-mail without giving any identifying info and request whaterever information the have.

Crappy Hotmail. When I went to reply to the message, I could see that there was an actual graphic, but not much of it. I had to forward the e-mail to a yahoo account, which also did not show it, but listed it as an attatchment. I forwarded back to Hotmail and it opened. It is one of those so called No Credit check, catalogue deals for $7500.00. They could have gotten my e-mail from any of the other companies I applied to. It is from First National Gold

I think I've heard of this outfit, and their so-called First National Gold. It's a scam --try doing a search here; I know I've read something about it. (Gotta get back to work, alas.)

Actually, casinoannie97, "akares", so I don't think it's "acres". Just for grins, I went to http://lakewatchakares.com/.

Their website says "Mondonline is the newest leader in email marketing." Yeah. "Leader" I bet.

Yip, I read about them this morning before leaving for work. I read nothing good! Interesting though, how they happen to have my e-mail. I know it was prob. part of a bulk sale of e-mails as theirs did not make mention of my name.
