Chase Freedom or Discover IT??

Hey guys,

Recently, I have received pre-approved offers from both Chase Freedom and Discover IT. I'm wondering....which one should I go for? Which credit reports do each typically pull for approvals? Thanks for any suggestions!!!

Sure:

1-2 inquiries in the last 12 months
1 baddie that is getting ready to drop off anytime this month
I have an amazon storecard and paypal at $1600, authorized user on a Cap1 Venture $7500, various Cap1 cards ranging from $300-750, Credit one at $1300, Authorized user on Chase card for $1500

This would be the first real "prime" credit card I would be applying for by myself. I've been slowly repairing my credit since 2008.

IMHO check the dates on the pre-approvals wait for the baddie to fall off of CR's and apply for both

I thnk you'll be approved for both now but with smaller limits verse if you wait until CR's are clear you stand a better chance of higher limits

For me, chase pulled ex and discover pulled eq. You can probably get either or both, and they may start you out with conservative limits, but they will grow with you.

I think you could get either or both.

Personally, I think it's tough to pick between these two cards. The 5% categories are very similar on some quarters, but I think they can actually work together. I have both. There are still places that don't take Discover, and Freedom comes in. Then there's ShopDiscover, which I love.
