Chase Recon Success

I just applied online for a Chase United Mileage Plus card.

The online app came back saying please wait 30 days.

I did a recon calling 888-245-0625 and got right through to an agent.

She did hard pulls for Equifax and Transunion and found that I only had two cards opened. I explained I use one for active purchases and keep the other for emergency use.

She also wanted to know about the $2k balance on my BofA card and I told her I was paying that off $500/month.

I got approved for $10k on the spot! Plus, I get 21k miles into my mileage plus account!

Combined with a $5k CLI on on my BofA AMEX and I'm off to a great day on my cards.

Nice work cw2...that Chase number gets you to people who are more than willing to listen...and usually to try and help out.

I just app for a Chase Rewards card and got the same 30 day thing.
Called the number you gave, found out I was denied, and went thru the recon process.
$2000cl card is on the way!!

I applied for a chase master card and was denied back in March. I called the recon line and was told that they don't even have access to the app after 30 days. Do u think i should reapply? The reason for denial was due to charge off, that fell off this month.

It just worked for me. APP'ed and called 3 minutes later. It was in the system. Told Denied but asked for recon.
She basically walked me thru my report asking questions
'Lot of inq's lately' answer 'well you have to apply for credit to establish credit, I didn't realize there were a lot, I'll have to watch that if that's considered bad'
'You had some lates on your auto loan' answer ' I bought my (wife-son-daughter) a car and she had trouble making the payments, I know it was in my name and I've rectified the situation by putting it on automatic withdrawal.
'theres an old account with some late payments that went into collection but was paid answer ' that's being disputed and it's not mine, it should falloff as soon as they review it this week'
Let them here what they want to hear.
If they deny your no worse off than before

All,

I have a BK from 12/03. I did not think that Chase was BK friendly..my application was declined due to a BK. I called in for a recon and was approved for $3500 starting credit line. The rep did go over several items from the credit file.

What is that recon number again before I apply? I filed Ch. 13 Bk. January 2002 and was Discharged January 2007.

So I just called the recon number give (thanks by the way) and the rep was very nice and reviewed my application and credit report. He asked several questions and then said he'd reconsider the application for $1000 and I should receive something in the mail in 7-10 business days. I was too stunned to ask anything further but he did mean I was approved, right?

Yes. Sounds that way to me. That's what they told me on the phone from my recon. I happen to have Chase for my existing checking account and I signed on their website and the new cc was there!
