Requirements for American Express..

So basically I really want an AMEX charge card..I dont know why but I would really like to get a relationship with them started. What are the basic requirements to get an AMEX? Pretty much just looking to get a charge card not a credit card with them.

I have a 712 EX score, with 13 inq. (9 of them falling off in the end of April..7 in the end of feb)

Is there an certain income you need, etc?

They're all in 2013..That is why I making sure I should wait until they fall off maybe? Or even longer than that?

Just so I'm clear, all 13 inq's are less than 12 mos old? How many in the past 6 mos? How many new TLs?

Ouch. I would definitely wait until the inquiries are clear, especially if those represent new open accounts. Let your new accounts get to 12 months and give it a try.

I had a lower score than that when I got the Unicorn card, but they don't offer that any more. I'm not aware of any income requirements.

Yeah right now I am using my Chase Freedom extremely heavily..spend about 2-3k a month on it (of course only letting a small limit hit the statement) but PIF after that. I am focused on getting my Freedom to a Visa Signature, and then possibly trying for AMEX.

I've opened 13 new credit cards in the past 8 months including three Amex cards (Blue Sky, BCE and Premium Rewards Gold) and 3X CLI to 15k with credit history of 2 years and 4 months and AAoA of 7 months. All 4 Amex actions (3 new accounts + 1 CLI) were instant approvals. My latest EX 08 Classic was 754.

I'd say go for it.

My strategy is to open as many accounts as possible to not miss out on the good bonuses within a short period of time and let them all age together. With the receipt of my Chase CSP, with 50k bonus, I think I'm done for a while.

As you said YMMV but I got my first Amex charge with a score of 680 and tons of inquiries from getting a mortgage. They pulled only Ex for me as well. I think I had as many inquiries as you did but they were all mortgage shopping related over the course of a few months.

I would wait til April, you might get approved now but you dont want a really low limit

We can't tell you their exact criteria as we don't know them. As with any creditor, your entire credit picture matters. We do know that AmEx is inquiry sensitive and we can guess that 13 probably aren't going to be favorable for you unless you have a very strong credit profile to counterbalance the inquiries.
