I couldn't find the thread...

Anyway has anyone had any luck in combining the credit lines for HSBC/Direct rewards discover?

I read somewhere in a thread they may have a fair credit discover, well I ended up with another HSBC product. Do I need to call the back door to try and combine these lines or regular customer service? The terms on the cards are exactly the same...I'd rather see $1450 as opposed to $750 $750 reported to CRA's.

I read in one of the posts, you can combine 2 HSBC Discover Plat Cards. You can also combine Visa+MC Cards. You can not combine Discover with other cards.

Do I have to wait for them to send the card and activate or can I call them ahead of time to combine the TL's?

The two times I combined, I did not have the second card. I had the Platinum only. The rewards card with the $300.00 had not even been mailed yet. They still sent them to me and I just discarded them. Be real clear about which on you want to keep. Some people have written about a paper application they had to fill out. In neither case did I have to fill out this application. Everything was done and approved over the phone.
