Just got my card after my recent approval only to find out it's a secured cash rewards card but I didn't have to pay a deposit, was wondering how good is this card?

That's why I'm confused but I've spoken to at least two reps that have confirmed that it is in fact secured

Then I suggest you ask them when you can get your deposit back.

@Jwest: Did you apply online for this card? What kind of rewards card is it? Maybe call again and tell them that there's no way this can be a secured card if no security deposit has been given to BOA. I think it's as simple as that.

FYI, I was approved in July for a secured BOA card and the funds were taken from my checking account before the card was sent.

what kind of rewards are you after for this card? it doesn't seem like it offers much because the rewards you earn will be used to pay for paying off your checkings account? just curious.

Lol I may as well ask but to answer the question my card is the same 123 cash back rewards card that they offer

Unless this slipped through the cracks would be the only way I can see the collateralized deposit not tied/linked to the product somehow. I'm sure if the product is coded as secured, you can confirm on your CRs if it displays as such.

Yeah I pulled my reports directly from experian and didn't see it listed as a secure card at all, is there a spot on my reports I should look at that says secured?

It would be referenced under the fields: Loan Type (TU ) / Type (EX) / Type of Loan (EQ).

Yep under type it just says credit card not secured,but anyone want to offer up some reviews of this card?
