USAA CC with limited membership?

I've been reading about the cards. I have a limited membership with just investment accounts at USAA. Am I eligible for CCs? Looking like this might be a good route for a future app spree.

AFAIK, with limited membership, CC products will not be available/offered. Others can chime in if they've had success ever since they clamped down on other products they offer with limited membership.

i just logged into DD's account and he has limited membership...i was able to start the application process for one of the CCs...i think if it weren't available to him then it would have said it already

my DD became a member before that change, so even tho he is a limited member he can still apply for the CCs...however, if you became a limited member after that change then CCs won't be available...forgot to ask OP if he's already a member and when

USAA closed the doors to new limited members a few months ago.

Existing ones were grandfathered in, with access to a wider range of products. When I log in as a limited member, most of the CCs are available.

What has not been tied down is whether limited members will take a hit in terms of the APRs and CLs they get. Before this change was made, there were reports of limited members with good credit getting APRs in the 20+ range.

I have an old no-reward USAA MC with a high APR, and keep wondering if I can improve the situation.

I am a grandfathered limited member. I think they just draw out of a hat for apr. they gave me a 10k cl with a 25% apr. (may just have been a targeted balance tranfer offer 0% for year) and another card with 15% apr.

Just an FYI if you want a USAA CC - a way to get in without joining would be to go to the Wounded Warrior site, and apply for the WW CC from there...you go through the app and then they ask you to set up your online account - using this you do not have to be a member.....now I dont know if you can PC to something else once you get the card maybe someone else here knows....

Last I recall USAA wasn't able to do PCs. They used to a long time ago. Additionally, any secured CCs do not graduate.

As a USAA Military full member, I thought the only products a limited member could NOT have were access to the property and casualty insurances. Also, August 25, 2013 was the date they say the limitation to new non-military members was implemented.

Hmm, I tried this and it took me directly to the USAA website and asked if I was eligibile for membership.

yup, say no and it still should let you apply.....
