Has anyone ever had this? DH's initial credit line was 500 when opened this month charged about 300 pif immediately for the last weeks now havent touched, We checked today and there is a charge on there from Barclay for 2.00 and it just says minimum charge. So are they allowed to charge you something if you have a zero balance just to get money from you? Forgive me if I sound silly I have just never seen this before.

Thanks!

Edit- They said it was from the cash advance , which i figured all is well again lol!

He has 0 interest for 6 months. Didnt matter anyway because his statement was cut on the 16th I think (dont know the pattern yet, first bill) as soon as he got the card he chardged and paid in full so by the time the bill cut there was no balance because he paid it before it even generated. When I check today the statment is simply says "minimum charge" no more no less.

LIke having a 0 balance lol

Yes we still have the paperwork, but I am guilty to say we didnt read ALL the fine print, he is on the phone with them now. Will keep you guys posted, that would suck though to have a monthly fee but it is what it is.

Hey, don't beat yourself up over it. If it ends up being a $2 monthly charge, that is better than it might be. Before I knew better I was paying probably $500 in annual fees on my cards (Credit One, Capital One, HSBC, etc).

If $24 annual fee helps you build your credit, I guess that is a small price to pay, right?

AFAIK, Barclays doesn't have any type of "monthly fee" product. They have AF products, but none that are like FP or CO.

Oh ok, thats good to know!

My guess is that its most likely interest fees due to the cash advance then. Call CSR to find out just to make sure.

This can happen sometimes when doing shopping online or when booking international flights / hotels.

Yes he had to take a cash advance to activate the card at a bank because there was a security issue, but they already charged him $10 for it which he paid. Thats what I was figuring too.

Yes, there is the cash advance fee and the finance charge associated with the cash advance (since there is no grace period for those, regardless of when it was PIF).
