Ok Ok ... I am soooooooooooo happy. Two weeks I was crying having a pity party. Now good vibes are coming my way. Got an instant approval from Macy's for $1000 (my first decent limit). Then comes my BOA AMEX approval. Today I log in to EQ Credit Watch Gold and my CAP1 CHARGE OFF HAS FALLEN OFF!!!!!!!!! Whooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo

Now to pull my scores ... I am afraid. Anyway, just wanted to let my fellow FICOtonians know and give thanks for all of your guidance.

Congrats! From what I've read $1000 on a Macys card is pretty high.

Question about expectations for my score. The charge-off is removed, however I do have several inquires and 4 new accounts this year. What impact does one have against the other?

You may not see much if any of a bump. I didn't when my single 30 day late fell off. I think i picked up like 3-6 points. The reason is a 30 day is major hit at day 0. By 90 days it has recovered a lot. By 180 days it is a very minor mark. By 2-3 years it is no longer heavily weighing your score down. After 7 years there are many other factors more important.

Look at your most recent report:
What are the top 3 negatives reasons?
Which place is the 30 day late? Likely not #1?
Is there a corresponding positive? "You most recent late payment was x years ago"

It is nice to see baddies go even if it doesn't help FICO much.

Ummm there is more ... Well in my eyes anyway I just realized BOA approved me for their Accelerated Rewards AMEX vs the regular Rewards AMEX. Ok ok I will stop patting myself on the back now, but this has been a GREAT week.
