Someone posted that when you're in your account, go to Manage My Account and then Credit Line Increase Request. If the form comes up with all the boxes at whatnot that you have to fill in, that's a hard. If it says submit or something basic like that, it's a soft, and you're probably already pre-approved.

J.Crew isn't Citi (wish it were) but I noticed the other day that it showed the submit option. I hit enter and poof, a CLI. With my most despised CC. I'm all conflicted now.

What haulingthescoreup wrote is very true. A few months ago I asked for a cli online and I got a form to fill out. Not knowing that it would cost me a hard pull I filled it out and was denied. Just now I went online to try again and this time when I clicked on request cli it automatically told me I was getting a 1700 cli --no form to fill out--and it even stated this did not result in a hard pull.

I haven't checked the Citi Manage My Account/Credit Line Increase Request page since my last CLI, on May 3rd. I looked at it early this morning, and there was an offer for a $1000 credit line increase (soft pull). I accepted. That makes 2 soft pull CLIs in less than 2 months!

I'll have to start checking that page on a more regular basis.

just hit the luv button...

"We regret that we cannot approve your request for a Credit Line Increase at this time. Your request was processed by the credit record we have on file, as well as a credit scoring system, which assigns a numerical value to various items on your credit card account(s). Your credit score did not meet our requirements, because:

Your balance is high on one or more of your accounts with us, compared to the total credit limit.

Your credit report indicates one or more of your account balances with other creditors is high, compared to the available credit."

(BOA hasn't reported my pif- and my bt hasn't went through yet- its been a week?!?)
