Different versions of Discover IT?

Why are there a few different types of the Discover IT card? I don't understand the difference so I am confused.

I've seen on websites "Discover IT" "Discover IT" "Discover IT - 18 month balance transfer" or whatever.. things like that.

I'm not sure what you mean. I thought there was only a regular Discover It and Discover It for students.

It depends on what you want the card for !!! They have 1 for cash bonus , 1 for bal. Transfer 18 months and 1 for 0% APR for 15 months

There are two versions of the regular IT card, one for prime customers, the other for non-prime customers. The differences I remember from looking at the sample T&C are the spread of interest rates available are different, the mininum payments are different, and the mininum amount of interest charged are different and rather high for the non-prime card.

There are some perks (not advertised, generally) that they give to some cardholders, and not others. The best known is probably the concierge service, but there may be others. But they're not something you apply for, they're something they just give you or not give you.

I think it just depends on your CR.

When I got mine back in May 2012, I got 6 months 0% then 24% after. No 18 month 0% and no BT offer what so ever, and that's what I had apped for. The lady that I talked to when I called the number on my approval screen said I was not qualified with a BK on my report for the best terms.

I remember at that time there were alot of Discover approvals with terms like mine ranging in 0-6 month 0% and limits starting at 900 to 1700.

There are a bunch of post dated may of 2012 with differences in new accounts being posted and most put their stats at the time.

I would just do a search for "Discover it" and look through those and see why who got what.

I have heard some didn't even get the 6 month 0% and I think I remember seeing 1 post with someone getting 0% for 3 months.

Different versions usually hinge on different available promotions through different third-party sites and also based on the individual's creditworthiness.
