Balance Transfer check to yourself

Hi all.

I wanted to know what were some cards that give you the ability to process a balance transfer, but allow you to deposit a check into your own account. And it falls under a BT interest rate, not cash advance. I recently saw such an offer from my Citi TYP and I had no idea this was even a possibility.

Barclaycard, but I'm not sure if it is available with all card types or accounts. Mine is iTunes and I can do this.

I've had this with Barclay Sallie Mae MC, Chase Amazon Visa, and CapOne Venture One.

In some cases it takes a long time before the issuer starts sending out those BT checks, though, six months or a year.

I have received 0 % checks in the mail that I can deposit to my bank from BOFA, Citi, Chase, Capital One & PNC.

BoA and Citi send them to me about weekly. I did this once with BoA and it was not considered cash advance, it was balance transfer.

I guess it's only Citi... I did that with my Simplicity.

BoA does it too, But you need to go to the branch and see if there's any offers linked to your account. (My dad does it all the time)

Discover only does it from one credit card to there's (True BT).

So far, I've got BT checks from Wells Fargo, Citi and Discover.

I agree with the the others, just be sure to read the fine print and T&C attached with those promotional BT checks.

I just opened my US Mail...

My Barclays Sallie Mae sent me the blue balance transfer checks, just like I get every month.

And what is this, my Barclays Priceline came on the same day, and it too has the blue balance transfer checks... BUT it also has White balance transfer checks as well. So I have two different balance transfer offers from the same card, each with different ending dates on the promotional offer. Blue ends Jan 1 2015, White ends July 1 2015.

I'm not sure who Barclays is competing against, but they have my vote for winning the Balance transfer checks competition...

Yes indeed. I get them every couple weeks for all (but probably not so much on the 2 I just closed).
