Amex Soft Pull Frequency

Hey, does anyone know how often Amex soft pulls card members accounts ??? I would like to finally get a cli on my Blue Cash approved, but only after my lower balances report within a couple weeks.

If AMEX does a sp it's probably to monitor your activities with the other TLs on your CR. They don't need to SP to know what you've been doing with their cards.

A lot and there's no rhyme or reason when and where they'll SP

They pull and check under 3-4 different company names

Oh ok. Just trying to time when to request the cli since they go by whatever is the last soft pull they have, and I have been paying down my cards for a bit, just waiting for all the zero balances to report. I suppose I'll have to pull a report from Experian to check when they soft pull me.

I opened my Delta Amex from a HP on EX 11-15-2013, then PC'd to a BCE on Thanksgiving.

Since Jan 8th, I've noticed 3 SP on EX

New accounts and charge cards tend to see more SP's

Something interesting I read here elsewhere is that Amex gets a fresh soft pull from Experian whenever there is a hard pull for new credit. I am applying for the Chase Ink later this month, so then I'm guessing Amex would then have an ideal soft pull for me to then go ahead and ask for the cli.

The only company that SPs me more then AMEX is Citi.

Since my hp on 11/14 for the cards there have been four sp's on EX

American Express 2 11/25 & 12/3

Wow, maybe it comes with opening 3 new accounts with them in less than 30 days, but as for soft pulls with AmEx, my EX shows 1 on 12/30, 01/04, 01/05, 01/06, 01/07 and 01/08! Of course, that's in addition to the hard pulls from the actual apps themselves.

Ironically, despite what I've read about Barclays being a little "soft-pull happy", they've only softed me once on EX (about 2 weeks after I opened my 1st card with them) & twice on TU.

I have two accts with them.

In terms of Barclay I think most people have over reacted based on info from a small sampling of acct cancellation or cld. I have only had one SP from them since acct openning..

Either way I wont sweat it if they take any action adverse or favorable.

IN A STRANGE WAY, my cr has improved in everyway except for aaoa from new accts. If all my new creditors had seen my Cr today a month sooner they might have given higher CLs. So I am happy they are SPing me because everything has improved including fico scores.

A month ago I had $600 TL with util of 51%. Today I have 3%.

Correct, with each hp on EX Amex will sp you as well as new TLs reporting.

The SP me weekly and I haven't had an Amex since 2007-8 maybe? It was a corporate card and it isn't on my CR anymore. Before that I had Amex green opened in 1994 then closed in 1997. Why would they be SP me?? Its like clock work.
