can you PC a citi CC?

I think you can, I have in the past, but does anyone know if you have to have a zero balance to do it, or can you still be using the card when you request a PC? Thanks!

I was told by one of their reps that you can request PC for any of their products (except maybe the co-branded ones) after a year of account opening date and that it doesn't have to have zero balance on the card that you want to PC. Hope that helps.

PC elegibility would also depend on the product type as well since not all Citi cards can be PC'd - some can only remain within that same product family. The non-cobranded cards cannot be converted to cobranded ones (i.e. Dividend to Hilton or Simplicity to AAdvantage, etc). Best to check with them since their PC policies change frequently.

+1. I've recently called and asked to see if I can PC my AA Gold WMC to Platinum, but they told me the same thing...the CSR actually tried to do it but she said that the comp wouldn't let her be able to.

Thanks these answers are helpful! I want to PC the AF Hilton to the non-AF version, but I PC'd to the Hilton 3 months ago from the Platinum Visa that I have had for years, so technically I don't know if they would do it now anyway. I got the Hilton for the gold status, but now that Amex Platinum includes that I figured I would save on the AF.

Just a recommendation, but every time I've tried to PC I've just asked to speak to a supervisor when calling in... surprisingly the "options" to convert change depending on the level of the person you are speaking with. Even if the computer can't automatically make it happen, there are ways to have the request manually submitted.

Well, so the year requriement can't be overridden; but the type of card you can PC to can be. So, once your year is up, call in directly to ask for a supervisor and let them know what card you actually want. They will work the magic on their end for you.

I converted my Citi previously secured mastercard to a Citi Exec. AA Card in the summer of 2012. Is this a new policy?

Today I called Citi and ask if they can PC my Simplicity card to the Dividend. I was told that it cannot be done because Simplicity cards are uneligible for any PC. Represantative said that this policy applies to ALL Simplicity cards.

Did anyone here try to PC a Simplicity card?

Their PC policies fluctuate frequently and some products cannot be PC'd. You may try to see if you get better results via the EO.

Also with Citi, I just went through this with EO, if you are still in the promotional period....15-18 months 0% interest for example, you have to wait until your promo period is over to PC.

My promo period is over. They say all Simplicity cards are ineligible for PC, not just mine.

It all depends on who you speak to. I tried converting my Dividend MasterCard the other day to a ThankYou Preferred as I want to change it now rather than later because I might close my ThankYou Premier card later to avoid the AF...and I would rather keep the MasterCard account as it is the older account. Anyway, I called the number on the back of my ThankYou Premier card and spoke to a lady who pulled up both of my accounts and told me that I was not able to convert. Then, just today, I decided to give it another try and this time called the number on the back of my Dividend card and the guy converted the account no problem. Now, my Dividend card was a World Elite MasterCard...the guy asked me whether I preferred Visa or MasterCard (he didn't specify Visa Signature, World, World Elite, etc) and I told him MasterCard. Question is, when I receive the new card, will it be a World or World Elite MasterCard? He told me the account number would not change, so maybe that is a good sign. But then again, my Dividend card was automatically upgraded from World to World Elite and the account number stayed the same in that process.

You should be getting a World MC. The only Citi cards available in WEMC currently are the Executive AAdvantage, Premier, and Dividend (via upgrade).

You should be getting a World MC. The only Citi cards available in WEMC currently are the Executive AAdvantage, Premier, and Dividend (via upgrade).

A couple of board members have TY Preferred World Elite. Also Prestige is World Elite by default.

My mistake, I meant Prestige, not Premier. Also, the 2 (on this forum, I believe) with the TY Preferred WEMC snuck in on a one time deal. No stories of this happening again in a long time.
