Why do you like Discover?

Why do you like Discover?

I agree they have nice CSRs but I haven't had the best experience with them. Also, when I travel abroad, 99% of the places I try to use it do not accept it.

I'm thinking of closing them when I'm done paying off their BT offer.

I like it because it's by far the most accepted card in china. Any place that accepts any kind of card will accept discover, where if they accept visa they might only accept Chinese issued visa.

They use caller ID to link your phone number to your account, so when you call they answer and know who you are. Love this. With amex I have to tell them my card number everytime before speaking with someone.

Fantastic support, great account site with a good cash back merchant portal, great mobile app, no foreign fees (even through its not widely supported overseas)

I hate discover because they refuse to increase my credit limit. I've given up on them. But my csp and sapphire give me the best service ever. There's an automated voice that says this phone call may be recorded and less than 5 secs later a person picks up and assists you and they have the caller Id thing too so they always know who you are.

If you see a Diners Club logo your Discover card should work there abroad

Shopdiscover feature.

That feature alone makes the card worthwhile. They do provide 5-10% more cashback for certain merchants compared to other cashback / bonus miles portals.

I don't know yet if i like Discover or not. It depends on how close they grow with my other cards. Like anything else, if they don't keep up they'll be left behind for someone else to delay with. LOL

Shop discover can't be beat. Last year bought a tv thru shop discover, 6% back on $1400....$84. How can you not like discover.

One of the best website to manage account online, iPhone / iPad application probably the best, card design, customer service, rewards structure all one of the best.

Conservative credit limit policy is the only thing I don't like about Discover.

I love Discover because of the awesome CS, they option to let you redeem your cash back during checkout on Amazon, Shop Discover is awesome, and the rotating categories.

5% categories/ShopDiscover, excellent customer service (chat is awesome), and easy navigation on website. In this era, customer service is at the top of my list and Discover delivers.

1. Great CS (though I haven't had "bad" CS experiences)

2. Auto CLIs (only lender other than WF who's done that for me - and much more frequent than WF)

3. ShopDiscover (even though it only works half the time)

4. Great website and smartphone apps

5. 5% bonus for online shopping during the holiday season

6. Free FICO score

I don't. They're okay. 5% categories are hit or miss - the online shopping one is incredible though. Their ShopDiscover gave me all of 6 bucks extra cash back when I booked $1400+ in hotels through it for a supposed extra 5%, so done with that experience. Plus they haven't given me an auto CLI in 4 years.

One part where they were surprisingly useful - went to Italy last year. Managed to pay for 1/3 of my trip (bookings + restaurants + tickets, etc) using Diner's Club. No joke. I didn't have a 0% FTF Visa/MC then, still don't, so I always tried to use the Discover first and see if it went through.

Mine is in the SD due to no CLI without a HP.

Shopdiscover, plus 5% all online shopping 4Q 2013.

I used to like it for restaurants as well, but I have multiple US Bank Cash+ cards, so that category is always covered now.
