I received a letter requesting additional information to verify me which I misplaced but have located the phone number. I plan on calling tomorrow; however, I am a little nervous.

I am trying to rebuild my credit so I've been reading and applying to creditors I gather are BK friendly. Store cards mostly. I applied at Macy's today online, and got the same kind of message like VS (I have a Fraud Alert on my file) but it allowed you to contact them via chat. I did and the lady sent a message via chat saying "Congratulations, you have been approved...." She explained the discount to me and everything. I said thank you, is there anything else I need to do? She then came back and said, I'm sorry I "mish informed you" we need more time to process your application, you'll get a letter in 7-10 business days. She didn't ask for anything except for my name and address so she didn't verify anything. I contacted a supervisor a minute later, and he told me I was denied.

Has anyone called into VS to do the verification and been denied? Keeping my fingers crossed as I've been applying for this card since 2005(Way before I had a BK). WFNB didn't like me, but Comenty Bank seems to be more lienient. What do you think?

Welcome to myFICO and good luck to you.

If it's the same as my Pottery Barn verification for Comenity means they want to know your address, phone, and ask you 3 questions off credit report that usually are:

1. Do you know a person by the name of. (It was my mothers name he was asking but be careful because he misread and mispronounced and I repeated the name he said and said well my mothers name is ... and he said oh yes, im sorry her name.

2. What month is that persons birthday.

3. I owned realestate in what county in the past (this one was also tricky, it was investment property from way back in like 2007 and I never even saw it or anything, I only knew the county from court papers being served to me long ago (luckily weird details like that get stuck in my head)

when I answered those 3, he said great that's what we needed to confirm to just make sure it was you applying, so it looks like you we can approve your application for ....

Give them a call!
