A few weeks ago I applied for some stuff:

Sallie Mae MC : Denied. Recon failed too.

BoA Better Balance Rewards: Approved

Discover It: Approved

Yesterday I applied for Barclaycard Arrival WMC (AF version) and was denied, but approved for the Platinum MC (AF Version).

So no, I disagree that the Sallie Mae MC has similar requirements to other Barclaycard cards considering I had no inquiries or accounts newer than 1 year when I applied (and was denied) for it, yet I was approved for Arrival after having at least 2 new inquiries (on TU).

Thanks for the info. The Discover It I was approved for is now the only card I have, and they only pulled TU apparantly. My only other inquiry was the Barclaycard, which pulled Exp. I wonder if Barclay will pull Exp again if I apply for the Sallie Mae, or if they will go the usual route and pull TU?

Since Barclays denied me for having too few satisfactory accounts in my history, my guess is they will probably say the same thing if I apply for the Sallie Mae MC. It seems like Barclay is wary of my limited credit history, but I have always read they frown upon new/recent credit inquiries - especially with other creditors. If I apply for the Sallie Mae MC, do you think I stand a better chance at getting approved now, or later on this year? (once the Discover has built up a history) My guess is waiting can only improve my chances. I know another poster suggested that.

I just found out about this card a few days ago and I am absolutely itching to apply for it. I don't know how this card gets so little attention; when I found it I thought there must be something blatantly bad about it (besides the caps) for it to be so relatively unknown. Maybe because the card is, unfortunately, ugly looking?

They pulled TU for me (Sallie Mae MC and Arrial)

+1 for TU pull.

Also I opened four new cc accounts after Barclay's SM and they haven't said anything - been wondering if they would CLD or close the account due to their notorious sensitivity to new accounts.
