? About Upgrading to Chase United Club Explorer

Hi everyone apped the other day for the united plus should have looked into this card more throughly as the united club would fit my needs better. Does anyone know if Chase allows upgrades with the airlines cards, has anyone with the united plus card upgraded to the club card are there any restrictions/how did you go about doing this. As far as I know, yes.

However, if you log onto your Mileage Plus, you may see an offer to sign up for the Club card with a $100 statement credit. Not sure if you want another HP and/or new account.

Thanks for the reply I just have to find out if there is a waiting period, as pretty much it seems to be the same card other than better priortiy access and club access and increase in annual fees. unfortunately I only see on my mileage account the card I currently have now, as with Chase I doubt any more credit will probably be extended to me as I already now have 37K with this bank

I often get United Club offers where they are willing to waive the AF for the first year. I'm not sure if that is a normal offer or is targetted.

I believe that is a targeted offer, as for me personally since I already have the united plus card I will never get an offer for the club card other than converting with no offers attached.

You cannot product change into the Club credit card until your Explorer card is 12 months old. However you can still apply for the Club credit card seperately. I've talked to Chase CSRs and FlyerTalkers about this many times.

+1 Same thing happend to me with the Chase Sapphire. I had applied for CSP and wanted to downgrade to CS and the CSR told me the exact same thing. I had to apply for CS.

Chase won't upgrade (lower AF to higher AF) a card unless the card is at least 12 months old (some credit card act rule for all USA credit cards) however, I have heard of Chase being able to downgrading (high AF to low AF) a credit card before the 12 months is up.

Throwing stuff along these lines up into the air: Can you downgrade an Explorer card to a no-AF card? Can you product change to a non-United card, i.e. CSP?
