I would suspect you would get a VERY nice CL and you could always call credit solutions once approved and get it increased A LOT!

I was given PayPal MC with $2k starting with a 680 TU and BK and other baddies

That's what I've gathered about GE. Do you think my history is long enough? It is good to know that a lower score with a file less clean than mine was able to be approved for that limit. Thanks for the data point!

Since you can redeem 6000 points for $50 paypal dollars, the 3X categories are really 2.5%

Its still a good card, just not quite as good as it seems.

Thanks for clarifying the rewards. I had read that in older posts, but I wasn't sure if the information had changed in the meantime. I appreciate it.

I'm now considering applying for the BoA Better Balance Rewards card instead. I'm somewhat concerned about GE's customer service and the website interface.

With credit solutions GE is pretty good.

Thank you for the information. I decided to apply for the Better Balance Rewards instead, so I'm set now. My profile is basically complete - one Visa, one MasterCard, and one Discover, so I can let these accounts age and allow the inquiries drop off before I find myself in the housing market in a number of years. I don't really feel the need to add an American Express card to the lineup, as these three cards and a stash of greenbacks gives me universal acceptance here in the U.S. I don't have a Visa or MasterCard with no FTF, but I rarely leave the country, so I really don't care.

Not sure why not, the earlier the beter to secure a D* date.
