APR does not change with a PC, good rule of thumb is when a card has AF or MF jettison it when its no longer needed just make sure its paid off prior to closing.

Cap 1 fee question

Quick ? for all who have a Cap1 Platinum MC....

I missed ONE payment back in Apr 2009 due to DH losing his job, I had called them to explain why I didn't have enough for min pymt and they set up like a split pymt but since the min wasn't received that month they dinged my report (already tried GWing them, no luck ) . Shortly after that I was sent new "terms" for my account which luckily didn't take away my sweet 5.9% APR (hence my reason for keeping the card + it was my 1st card post BK 9 yrs ago so I need it for AAoA) but did add a $5/mo "member fee" to my bill monthly. I'm getting close to having it PIF and was wondering if anyone else has this "fee" on their account and has anyone had any luck with getting it removed. I tried the basic CSR route a couple yrs back and asked before I read on here about the EO, so of course the answer I got was "No, sorry it cannot be removed only option is to close acct if you don't want to pay the fee". I don't want to PC the card either cause I'm certain the APR won't be the same and since I am carrying a balance right now that would hurt more than help.
