Discover IT CLI?

I have now had my Discover IT card for 5 months. How long show I wait before I try the LUV button?

From my understanding you can request for CLI after 3months, so you should give it a try.

They've always SP'd me. As a matter of fact, this last CLI was based off of information I gave them when I opened my card. The analyst asked me a few questions, read the old information back to me to see if it was still accurate, and I had him update it. Bam, CLI on a SP.

From what I can tell, and in my experience, Discover uses their in-house info on you to approve/decline.

Request every 3 months.

if sp is not available they will tell you AND ask you if you want to proceed with HP.

Not for everybody. For me it would always be HP. The good thing about Discover they let you know if HP is required. So you can go ahead and call and see if you are eligible for a SP cli. If you use the luv button the website it will also tell you but if you cancel the request the button gets stuck for like 3 months...I messed around with it several times and each time it stays cli request pending...LOL. Started to call every 3 months but with the same result for 15 months...no chance!

I've had a couple CLIs on my It. It's usually a SP but if it's going to be a HP they will tell you and ask if you want to proceed.

Just received CLI couple days ago from $6300 to $10k on a SP. Medium amount of spending on it, about $6k in the last 12 months.

I usually do it through the site. I'm antisocial like that. It's easier to play around w/ the numbers if they initially want a HP. Just don't play around with it too much or it'll act up and no let you do another CLI request for months. Ask me how I know.

This thread caught my interest, so I looked at the luv button on my account. It explicitly said that request would NOT affect my score, implying a SP. I went for it, and got a $2000 CLI! What a great way to end my work week. Thanks for the info, folks.

I just converted my More to IT and then got an unexpected letter in the mail offering to increase my existing 13,000 CL if I called in.

I have never been offered a CL increase on this account in the ten years since I opened it. It was for a $2000 increase but, hey, I'll take it if they are offering it.

Anyone else seeing these letters?

...oh I know...it takes just a one time cancel and the button is locked for another 3 months ...I have been there many times

I recieved auto cli's right at 6 and 9 months. So you might want to hold off unless you just want to play with the button.

Speaking of that button. It has never been active for me. Every time I click it it says ....."Your credit limit increase request cannot be processed at this time. For assistance, please call 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683)."

To those who received auto increases---did you open any new accounts after getting approved for the Discover? I've had mine for 6 months, but I opened 7 new accounts after getting approved. Citi declined my request and cited too many new accounts. I was wondering if Discover is the same way?
