New to this site, and have been a lurker for a few days. This is a really stupid question, but what is gardening your credit cards? Thanks in advance.

Basically it's a spot where we congregate in order to spend time with out new applications. This gives us time to let inquiries age on our credit reports, pursue soft pull credit line increases, and avoid new applications / hard pulls for a set amount of time. This leaves us in a position to make sure when we do app again, we are more likely to get the best terms, rates, aprs, and limits possible.
