The USAA CLI will be a hard pull if you ask for it (which in this case you will). I also recommend that you go for Amex first. While USAA may give you a nice increase based on how much you put on the card every month, I don't think that will affect your CLI with Amex much (either way you can go for 3x and likely get it). Also, I'd take free (soft pull) increases before hard pull increases.

Do you ever let a balance report on USAA? I think you should have received an auto-CLI by now with that much spending. They might like to see a balance report here and there for future auto-CLIs.

Good luck, post results!

CLI on Amex BCE or USAA first?

I've had my USAA World MC for two years at my original CL of $9K. I put about $2-3K on it every month and then PIF or leave a very small balance. I got my Amex BCE in early January with a CLI of $5K. I want to do the 3X CLI everyone talks about after the 61 days which should be next month, but I also want to request a CLI on my USAA card. Which should I request first? Also, is USAA CLI request a HP? Thanks.

I would do Amex first, as you may get upto 3X CLI. I really don't think any other lender will give you this much at 60 days.

I've let it report balances a few times, the most was about $1.4K. I was hoping for an auto-CLI but it hasn't happend and now that I have better reward cards, I'm not going to be using the USAA card much. I'll try for the Amex CLI in a couple weeks and maybe I'll just leave the USAA card where it is, it might not be worth a HP since I'm going to be using other cards more now anyway.

Since one sp ex and the other hp eq, it doesn't matter which is first.
