Approved for AMEX with no pre-approval offers?

I'm wondering if anyone has been approved for an American Express card when the pre-approval page found no offers.

I have used the Chase pre-approval without getting any offers but was approved for CSP and Marriott.

Yes. I kept checking with no dice, then I decided to give Delta Gold a shot. $10k immediate approval with "we have no offers for you ... but you might like..."

my score was 699 EX, 7% util, 6 yrs AAoA, 30 Accounts in file with 6 accounts with negative information

Same here for Chase, I was approved for CSP/Hyatt/Ritz all without getting any offers on pre-qual page. As a matter of fact, i never get pre-qualified offers for anything in any sites (Citi, Barclays, US Bank, AMEX), but still approved for all the cards i have.

I am with Yude! I never get any pre-approval offers....or pop-ups for that matter. Even at credit card match sites, I only get Cap1 or First Premier (my favs)

Another same here. I checked Chase pre approval this morning and Slate popped up....I apted for CSP and was instantly approved for $15K. I've never checked Amex but having no pre approvals certainly don't guarantee you will not approved.

I really would like to have an AMEX for backdating. I opened quite a few new accounts last year.

I usually PIF every month the statement balance (not total balance). In preparation for an AMEX app, I’ve paid every card to zero except for my Discover IT. The Discover is nearing the end of 0% interest. I hope to app in a couple of weeks after all accounts are updated on my reports. I’ll be around 15% util on the Discover, which is roughly 3% overall util. I hope to gain a few FICO points to help me get in.

Although I’m opted in, I never seem to get pre-qualified on any site.

+1 - Add me to the list. DELTA AMEX and Barclays Arrivals approved with no pre-approval. Apparently, am eligible for the CS and CSP cards, though.

Friend had no pre approved offers today and was approved for a BCE with a $5800 limit.

Yes, I have. I usually don't have any pre-approved offers since I have opted out from credit card offers, not sure if that counts.

Is there a link for their pre-approval/pre-qualify site? I'm a PRG card holder and I've never seen the link. I've done web searches and did not find anything. If anyone would paste a link I'd appreciate it.

My dad was instantly aproved for PRG after an e-mail invite but seems like almost everyoned gets them? He did apply for BCE and BCP but was denied and after those denials they sent him the PRG.

I was just approved for amex delta last week. I never receive any pre-approval offers on the amex website. I applied for the card on the delta website.

I've been to the amex pre-approval page numerous times in the past, but nothing ever popped up. Last month I applied for the Costco True Earnings card. I had about 4 cards report a balance on the average of about 300 dollars each. I was approved for that card with a 6K Cl and a few days later applied for the ED card and approved with a 4K Cl. I wouldn't take amex page with much faith.

I would tend to state from my own experience and other anecdotal reports that Amex generally sends pre-quals to people who are overqualified... and their minimum underwriting standard for all their products is much lower.

I didn't have any preapproval offers and was approved for Amex Blue Cash Everyday with a $2200 credit limit.
