Good move. No reason to keep a card open that you have no interest in using any more. I'm sure your other cards will be just fine with the increased spending on them.

Just tried for a CLI with both of these cards today and was told no. Citi CL is 1200 and Chase is 1500. Just did a balance transfer over to Discover for the 900 balance on the citi card. Just paid off the $14 balance on the freedom. After having both of these cards for 3 years and no increase I see no reason to keep them around.

Have you tried asking for a CLI on your citi? They'll tell you if it's a SP (the new form online will). And as for the Freedom I'd bet if you used and paid on time that you have a pretty decent internal score with Chase...if you app for another card you can transfer some of that new limit. Both are good cards IMO, just figured I'd ask before you closed them out
