AMEX 61 day CLI - Not eligible yet !!

So i asked multiple AMEX CSRs and they all mentioned my account opening date is 01/03. I checked my EQUIFAX report and it also shows January 3rd is the account opening date. But when i applied for CLI it declined saying the account is not eligible for CLI as it needs to be opened for at least 60 days. If it was opened on Jan 3rd then 61st day is today.

Have any one else experienced this before? Do I have to wait few more days?

i havent tried for a CLI yet. I'd wait awhile. What's the rush?

Also, do you have a balance on your card ? Maybe that has something to do with it. I will follow this post....

it happened to me but that's because Amex works on MT, so when I waited until the next morning it worked fine when I re-apped for the CLI (online in both cases).

No my card is paid off and has zero balance. I pay this card off right after the charges post. There is no rush as this is not my primary card. I use it only for grocery. But people on this Forum are always certain and talk a lot about 61 day CLI and there is even a definitive 3X CLI post as well. Not all of them are always true.

Day 61 would be tomorrow, March 5th, if your account opening was January 3rd.

OP - You may have gotten thrown off since February only has 28 days.

Don't feel bad. I do this all the time and I work math and analytics problems all day long for work. If you use excel you can always calculate it there. I put the date in one cell, number of days number of days ahead or behind in the cell next to it and then add the two together in the 3rd cell and make sure it's formated for short date. I'm sure there is a way to do it all in one cell but that seems to be a quick and easy way for me to double check myself.

How come it's March 6th now? used the link you posted. Adding 61 days from 01/03 is March 5th.

Update - applied for 3x CLI... got 7-10 day message. So most likely denied

I asked them over the chat and they said they can't see any request and it will take 1 or 2 business day to get a decision. But I don't have much hope on it. So may be wait 90 more days to apply again ?

I applied, couldn't get it right away. I called and the gentleman told me to wait until next week.

dont know if they don't give CLI to the customers who have low scores instantly, then i dont see they did any soft since Feb 16th on all three of my Credit bureau reports

well for us it's no more that 60 day limit. If it were not eligible, then they send an email instantaneously saying declined due to ineligibility.

Should I wait till next week or just try now? Again, I tried on Monday and the guy said it wasn't 61 days yet. And told me to wait till next week.
