Very frustrated (bank of america)

I applied for a Bank Of America Bank Americard and got turned down. When I called to have them reconsider, I received an offer for a partially unsecured card, with only $99 for a deposit. I wasn't sure and said I would think about it and ended the call. I decided I wanted it.

When I called back, they had no information about that offer and said it was null and void and I would have to fork over a $500 deposit. I can't afford that right now (very low income), and I'm very frustrated about this.

I called back again and still, nothing. All I can get is the crappy card with the full deposit.

Is there anything I can do about this but wait, pay off my other cards, and try again in six months? I'm really annoyed right now. I should have just said yes right then. I had no idea that it would be impossible after initially saying you need time to think about it. ugh.

you should have received a letter with the $99 offer. Just fill up the letter, attach a check (or fill in your banking account info) and send it back.

Since I didn't say yes, I don't think there's going to be a letter.

my brother was declined for the bofa student card as well. he called in and the analyst offered the $99 for $500 CL secured card. he said he would think about it and the analyst said they'll mail out a letter and if he decides to go with it, he just have to fill it in and send it back. And the letter did arrive after almost 2 weeks. It will be an additional HP on top of the original HP though.

don't know about the rest of that card since my brother didn't go along with it.

I don't know if the fact that I called back twice with two different people will void the offer though. Ugh.

And now that I think about it, the guy who told me that offer said nothing about mailing out a letter. So it seems like it's not gonna happen.

Give it about a week or two. The mailing seems to be a auto generated response when people are borderline declined for a credit card, I think.

Ugh I am so stupid. I just submitted two more credit card applications--both declined. Is there any chance I'll get that offer again when I try to recon, or will they see my previous applications and tell me to eff off? I REALLY want that 90/500 partially secured card and I'm so mad that I lost the opportunity just by saying I would consider it in the future. I wish there was some way to get it back! I'm so annoyed right now. ughhhh.

If you got denied for a card, they will send you a letter stating why the denial,the offer may or may not be with the letter, all you can do is wait it out. Best of luck to you

As others have said, be patient. If you showed up in the system as being eligible, as the first representative said, it's likely that the letter that's been mentioned here has already been sent out. DO NOT submit any more applications, for Bank of America or any other lender. The absolute best thing you can do is just wait for the letter -- it will be worth it!

I've apped way too many times in a short period. It's hard to be patient I know, but sometimes you have to be. Best of luck to you.

Yep, if in fact you did receive the offer, then you will get a letter. When I got mine 2 years ago I actually accepted the offer and I still received a letter with the offer! So don't worry it will come. But as others have said, stop applying, because when you do accept th 99/500 offer it will be another HP and you don't want to be racking up inquiries before you even get a chance to accept the offer

Edit: Man I just said the word `offer` like ten thousand times in that reply...lol

Well, I am updating because I need advice here. I received both rejections and neither came with the $99/$500 offer. I guess I'm just out of luck. : (

Ugh. I really wanted that offer. Is there any way to get it back? Will I just have to go through another failed app?

Why not just apply the $100 to the other cards that you have to pay off already?
