Quick question, the 0% interest period that I received when I apped for Discover is fixing to expire. Do they start adding interest retroactively from the day the account was opened or does it just start on the day the 0% interest ends?

Do you have a Discover More card? I just converted my card to the Discover It card two days ago. I asked (one person, no luck; second, much better) if I could have the 12 months 0%APR like the new applicants and he said I couldn't but he'd see if there were any other internal offers he could get me. He found 2: 0% APR for 6 months or a permanent reduction of 5% to my statement APR (17.99% to 12.99%). I know a lot of people work in the Discover It department, but ask for Justin. He was awesome.

It's the only one I've carried a balance on in over 2 years and it's been at 0%. I only have a $1,400 balance on it and could pay that off in one fail swoop, but was hoping not to. Just wanted to try to space it out a little longer considering the move I'm fixing to make. Maybe I'll try something with Citi since I've not built a relationship with that bank yet. I do get offers from them all the time. I appreciate the recommendations.

EDIT: Oh meant to add, I did contact Discover about extending the promo and they said they couldn't and checked for other offers but nothing useful came up except a balance transfer offer, but I didn't have any balances to transfer except the one on the Discover...lol

Would certainly be better than adding another inquiry or account to my report right now.

Thanks for the push, it was almost like an "I Dare You to Pay Off That Balance!"

glad that worked out for you grats!

I thought your balances were higher, but since it's just 1400, you are better off paying it, and then apply for a 0% promo card with rewards, and then charge 1400 worth of bills or expenses on that new card. At least you get some additional rewards out of it and don't have to pay any BT fees as well.
