Yes they should pull EX (and can double pull EQ and/or TU if the application is borderline).

I am looking for an every day use card for things like groceries and gas. If I could pay utilities with it too that would be great. I want rewards. I am thinking about American Express Blue Everyday card but not sure if my scores and history would allow that. I just pulled my fico Experian - 759, Equifax - a low 704 and I get my transuion score via Walmart and Discover --739.

Are those scores high enough for American Express? I havent ever had any American Express cards. I just got my Discover and a Citi Thank You Preferred back in Oct 2013.

I can wait if I need to. I've always heard American Express is one of the most difficult cards to get, credit wise. Is this true? What do they look for? Think my scores are high enough? My oldest card is from 2010. Its a Capital One secured 1000.00 limit which I plan on cancelling shortly before the annual fee comes due.

Walmart has sent me a Walmart Discover but I havent activated it and probably won't since they are saying my credit limit will only be 2500.00 and its 3550.00 with my regular walmart card.

Any suggestions for other cards I can use for everyday purchases? I pay all cards in full every month, never carry a balance. I just rewards for purchases I have to make regularly. American Express Blue sounded good to me until I started googling and read they consider "other factors". What other factors?

I was approved for the BCE with only a 6 month credit history and EX score of 720. I also got the PRG and both were an instant approval. I think you have a great chance at getting the card.

Had 33 inquires ( inanced 2 cars withing a year) AAA was about 1 year. Got the discover it card about 3 months before, and a citi AA, Apped for the Amex Delta Card, got an instant approval for $1000.

Does anyone know what scores or other things they are looking for? Does it matter that I havent ever had an American Express card? Do they have an easier card to get that I should try for first to get my foot in the door?

What about other credit cards for everyday purchases...any suggestions? As I said before, I just want the rewards for things I have to buy any way. I dont plan on any big expenditures. AND of course I can wait if need be. I dont want to waste a hard pull if I dont stand a good chance.

Your scores are better than mine ever were, so that shouldn't prevent you from getting the card you want. However, the Sallie Mae MasterCard gives more rewards than the Blue Cash Everyday in the Grocery + Gas categories according to my calculations:

Their charge cards are easier to get and what you could do is apply for the green and if you get accepted, immediatley apply for a Blue Cash card. If you get denied it'll only be a soft pull since you became an AMEX card member, if you get accepted there's a really good chance you'll get both cards with only 1 inquiry.

As far as an everday card, I would recommend the Freedom. Has served me well so far and I like the 5% rotating categories.

OP- have you tried AMEX's prequal link? If so, does it offer you anything? If you see "online prescreened offer", see the opt out prescreen notice and you click on terms and conditions and it quotes a specific interest rate, I think you are in for sure. You can certainly qualify without a prescreened offer but that's a good start.

If you're looking for a general spend card that you can use everywhere, it's hard to beat a CapOne Quicksilver Visa. 1.5% cash back across the board on everything adds up quick!

Let us know if you get a prequal offer if you try it. Good luck!

the other reason I was interested in American Express is because I have read about their generous credit limit increases and they back date any new cards to the date of an original card. That would be a great benefit if/when I needed another card.

To the right of the Spell Check button -- and above the message post window -- you will see the quote button. It should look like this:

3. Tap the quote bubble to insert the text of the post you are responding to and the block of text will appear in the message post window.

4. Type your response below the quoted block of text and then click preview if you'd like to proof the post before submitting, or click "Post" at the bottom of the message post window.

You are so right, I didn't know how to use it.

If you want the Amex card then I think you should apply. The CLIs and backdating are great! I do not think you need to apply for another Amex before the one you want. I think you will be approved immediately. There's always the SAllie Mae card as indicated above. There's also a gas/groceries Bank of America card but the percentages of cash back aren't as high.

OP-

Im not sure how much this helps, but I just thought I'd throw in my recent experience with Amex.

Just yesterday I applied for a Green Card and was instantly approved. I have three baddies on TU (all over 5 years old) and one late on TU and EX (over 3 years old). Neither of my Ficos were above 700 (see sig) and the only cards I had were a crappy Capital One and Bannana Republic store card.

Not sure whether the BCE is more difficult to acquire than the Green Card, but I thought I'd mention my experience.

I applied for a BCE on Saturday and was approved on Sunday. Couple of old baddies and about 6 HP's. Util was about 3% and my TU according to Barclay was 683. Not sure how I got approved but I'm not complaining!!
