Do you think my son will get approved

He has 1.6 years of credit, no late payments ever, his scores are good. all cards are pif.

Cards:

1st Financial - $1k

Capital One Journey - $0.750k

Capital One Quicksilver -$0.500k

Bloomingdales - $2k

Lord & Taylor - $1k

Macys - $1k

Shell - $0.500k

He did have a kay account 1.5k, this account is paid as agreed

He wasnts a amex green and discover it student?? What do you guys think?

My firtst year in college I applied and got approved for the citi dividend, discover student and amex blue. Also all I had reporting on my credit reports at the time was a credit one visa for $300 which I had for 3 months befor applying for those said cards. So I believe he would get approved for the discover student and also the amex green but why go green and not just app for the BCE? I think he could easily get the BCE might only be 1k limit but amex grows fast.

Why not PRG for the bonus?

Amex was my first card in college. Back in those days (1998) they had the Amex Blue for Students. Obviously many things have changed....Crap I feel old.

The Sallie Mae Mastercard gives more rewards than a BCE. salliemae.com

5% Grocery Stores, 5% Gas Stations, 5% Bookstores (like Amazon.com, or University Bookstores, etc)

Of course, this assumes he has income from a job.

his scores on all three bureaus are anywhere from 700- 720

You youngsters! When I went in 1977, ATMs were new-fangled inventions that took paper vouchers (retained by the machine). None of this reusable plastic stuff, it will never catch on.

My hometown still has that kind of setup in a drive-thru. You put your paperwork into a tube and insert the tube into the machine while sitting in your car, and the pneumatic tube whooshes it into the credit union, where someone reads your documents and talks over an intercom, and whooshes back a tube containing your money and receipts, or whatnot

Well school wasnt uphill in both directions, but I do remember overhearing my grandpa refer to the internet as a fad.

Maria with those scores your son should be good. In fact, if he applies for and gets an Amex charge (green/PRG/Platinum), he should app for an Amex revolver card at the same time. If approved after the charge card approval, he might get it on 1 HP. If denied, its still just 1 HP

I think he deffintiely has a good chance. I am a student and the Discover card was easy to get. Make sure its the student card. Its easier to get with low income
