First 4 digits on Chase Freedom Visa Signature?

Mine was recently upgraded to Visa Signature, but the number is still the same. However, I noticed my CSP starts with 4147 but my Freedom still starts with 4266, even though they're both Signature cards. Does this only apply to Freedoms that started out as Visa Platinum and were later upgraded?

The first 6 digits on a credit card are the Bank Identification Number.

Yup, mine has the same. My Freedom starts with a different first 4 than my CSP.

that is what I thought...but how come Cap1 start with 4147 as well if the CSP has the same first 4 digits and it is Chase?

Multiple financial institutions can issue cards starting with 4147.
Visa Assigns certain insitutions to carry those numbers.

414722 - Capital One - Visa Signature

414734 - Chase (US, formerly Bank One) - Chase Sapphire or Holiday Inn Priority Club Rewards Visa Credit Card
