Protocol for Discover soft pull CLI

Hey, Ive had my discover IT student card for just over 3 months, it has a 1000 dollar limit. How long do I wait until I can request a soft pull CLI. When I go to the online request credit line increase it says "Your credit limit increase request cannot be processed at this time." Do I have to wait six months, for some reason I thought it was three months? I always PIF, any recommendation to what amount I should ask for an increase to?

i have the discover open road student card and i've gotten 2 soft pull clis so far. my account just turned 1 year old.

basically i've called in each time to ask for a cli because my account shows the same message online. whenever i called in it was like at the 6 month mark (i think the first time was a little over 6 months and the second was a little under). i tell them i don't want a hard pull, and they say they'll stop putting the request through if a hard pull would be required.

both times my soft pull cli requests were denied, but about a week or so later i magically got auto luv, which i think was initiated by my request.

This may not apply to your situation, but I just thought my experience might help.

I've had my discover IT card for a little bit over a year (opened last year 3/13). Anyways, I have never request for a CLI. BUT however discover has given me 3 soft pull CLI. My starting limit was $1,500 which bumped up to $1,800. Another SP which raised it to $2,100. And on the 1 year mark I got yet ANOTHER SP CLI to my current limit of $2,500. In all honesty I think Discover is just matching my BofA limits.

Beats me their protocal for SP CLIs, I tried 3x and finally took the plunge with a HP. I got denied by the computer, but the Analyst said yes to my $5000 limit, from $1000. I have yet to try for another CLI and probably will wait for a while before I do.
