A good big bad problem.

So I posted a few weeks ago about going on an app spree (CSP, AMEX Blue Cash & Gold).

So these "signing bonuses" are so enticing that i'm trying to meet the requrements. I have to spend basicly 5k on credit cards in 3 monhts. Which I normally don't do, still in college, so making a low income currently and not looking to over reach my budget. I'm not spending more then I have, but also I REALLY want those bonuses. So currently working on CSP first (3K for 40000 points) then I'll work on Gold (2k for 20000) and if I make it that far then blue (1k for $50). At the rate I'm going ill probably only half way on the gold. Lemme know what you guys think of this issue! (Lol I know this is might be a silly thing for a lot of you guys who spend more but keep in mind I'm only 21). Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue, and please don't tell me these cards are out of my reach becuase by the time those AF's hit hopefully I'll be making enough to throw some money at it

Either you can meet the spend with current income and spending patterns or not, it is what is. Perhaps can make a purchase for a trusted friend or family member if that can make it work.

Could kick myself, third statement cut and just realized only spent 1800 on Amex Gold missing the 2k target accidentally, any way for them to consider giving a few extra days? Crikey! Avoid miscalculating, it's one thing if you know in advance that simply won't meet the spend but if you can, do have those duckies lined up in the time frames presented.

Same situation! I was approved for the AMEX BCP and PRG in Feb. and while I'm within $200 of meeting the $1000 spend for the $100 cash on the BCP (thanks to groceries and most of my entertainment moeny going toward grocery store purchased adult beverages ), on the PRG I'm about $900 away from the $2000 for 25k MR points and with my normal bills should only rack up about $600 more. Might have to get a Costco membership and buy a bunch of non-perishables for the months ahead.

Your in college, whenever you are out with your friends offer to pay the bill and them give you cash. Find friends who are about to go buy something expensive with cash and ask them if you can put it on your cards. Just pay the cards with the money you got from the friends.

Whenever I'm out with friends i pick up the bill so I can get the cash back hahah. But they don't mind. Have you ever heard of venmo? its similar to paypal. I just tell my friends to venmo on the spot and it'll be available in my bank account the next day and i just use that to pay off my bill.

in the same boat! but I have the none preferred versions of your similar cards bc I'm not a huge spender to take advantage.

Amex BCE - 1.5k in 3 months for $50 - ive made amex my daily driver so this should be easy

Bank Americard - 500 in 3 month for $100 - I'm pretty certain I'm going to use this card to buy an xbox one. Ive been wanting to splurge on it for the longest. why not get $100 off?

Chase Sapphire - 500 in 3 months for 10.000 bonus points ($100) - once I hit the amex bonus I will switch this to my every day card

barclay sallie mae - make 1 purchase within 3 months and earn $25 - easy peezy

Since you are in college, and I am guessing your tuition may be due if your school operates using the quarter system. You can use your card to pay for tuition fees.

You can also try bluebird with VR / gift cards, or gift cards with money orders.

I let my mother put groceries, car repair, drug store etc. on mine because I can trust her to pay me back right away. It doesn't do anything for her but since she's my mom she's happy to help me out.

What about using chargesmart to pay some bills like rent or car. You can pay pretty much any bill with them. The fees are like 2 ro 3% so not worth using to earn the rewards but might be worth it for the big sign up bonuses.

Age is not an issue considering at 21 I was making 50k a year. Its all about spending habits. Doesn't seem like you have means to do MS, so if your in college would try tuition payment route.

Do any of your friends have a Square account? You can swipe for any amount and have them give you the cash back after it hits their account in a day or two. It'll cost 2.75%, but it might be worth it for the rewards.

why not ask friends who operate their own businesses? that would be even better.

their merchant fees is most likely going to be less than that.

yes, it has to.

same thing for square really. your friend is still supposed to report that as income.
