should I request CHASE CLI?

I have had the freedom for over 18 mos now. Compared to my other accounts its limit is quite low. I've pegged the limit a good 6 or 7 times and PIF. Should I request a CLI? Whats the best method to do it?

The only way I know is to call and ask for it, but it will be a hard pull.

I'm not worried about the HP. I was going to call one of the numbers on the stickies but the mods removed them for whatever reason.

CLI request for me got me from 1500 to 3000. Credit solutions call got me 5000.

CLI request for me got me from 1500 to 3000. Credit solutions call got me 5000.

You remember which number you called? I remeber when I first got approved I tried calling several numbers to recon the initial limit but all the reps pretty much told me there was no way to recon the initial limit made it seem like chase doesnt do recons on anything

I called the number on the back of the card. They gave me twice the amount on my CSP (this was 2 weeks ago). They'll ask you for an amount or you do not have to give them one. They denied my Freedom CLI afterwards, the same week, so I called the backdoor number and got a small CLI that way.

do it for just 1 card.

ask for as much as you think is reasonable.

once you are done with the CLI request, call to have the CLs reallocated. Basically you got 2 CLIs for 1 HP, since all Chase cares about is total exposure.

That makes sense and is a good idea. I definitely use my CSP a lot regularly whereas the Freedom only during certain bonus quarters as I am sure is the case for many here. It really just comes down to taking another inquiry. I just got one yesterday on experian while getting approved for a new Amex

I'm in the same boat. Have had my freedom for almost 3 years and until recently had no movement on my CL. Of all my non-store cards is has the lowest CL. Until joining this forum didn't understand the process, but now I do. Not sure the HP is worth the increase or no increase, so will probably just use it minimally except when the bonus includes gas.

Yeah, I just don't know if the hard pull is worth it. I do want the cli, especially on the freedom, but I keep going back and forth on it lol

Your best bet to get your limit increased on your Freedom is to open a Slate account and then transfer most of the line to the Freedom. That's probably the easiest way to do it with chase.

Yeah I've read that as well but I don't really wanna open another account with Chase. Honestly, I was ok with getting the Amex Everyday Preferred since it would be backdated to March 2012, so instant 2 yrs of history off the bat
