banana republic increase dilemma

I have had my banana republic card for two years silently lingering at 4,000 credit limit. The Banana Republic store I shopped at closed last year unexpectedly and now I just use the card for everyday purchases. The nearest store is half a hour away. I shopped there religiously when I first got the card but now what do I do to get credit limit increases? A year later no increases no nothing.

Have you contacted customer service to request a credit line increase?

This is a GECRB issued card get Credit Solutions on the phone and ask them for 10K. Good luck

I have the same card but only go once or twice every three months. I think the fact that you're using it for non-store purchases looks good to them and will help keep the account active if you're not willing to make the drive to an Old Navy, Gap, or BR. (Not sure how comfortable you are with their sizing/styles, but ordering from one of their sites is an option as well if you're looking to show some in-network usage.)

Do you use the card every month? What's your utilization on it now? Have you asked for a CLI via the luv button or called in? Many increases, no matter how much you use the card, won't be automatic.

As of today it's eight hundred and fifty dollars. I use it every month mostly just gas and occasionally food. Will it be a hard inquiry or soft though ?

Its SP. If youve been using it that much I would call Credit Solutions and ask for a higher limit. I would ask for at least 3x your limit now. If they cant give the full amount they will try to give a lower amount. If it were me I would ask for $15k. Supposedly these cards go up to $25k.

Very late update. I was denied. Got the denial letter in the mail. Said there was a account in collections. Got that pulled and now I'll wait another month or two before I try the backdoor number again.

I just got two increases in a total of $1800. Think I should give BR another try or wait?
