BofA Recon Numbers not working?

Hi everyone. I just applied for a new bank of america cash rewards card and got the 30 day message. All the recon numbers listed in the stickey that are oriented toward new card applications are disconnected. When I call some of the numbers that are working, they are only for existing card holders. If I call the app status line, they just tell me I have to wait 30 days. Does anyone have a working recon number for a new application that works, or did BofA get rid of all their recon people?

If none of the numbers from the sticky are working. You may want to call the number for checking status of your application. Press '0' for a live rep, then ask to be transfered to a credit analyst.
Maybe someone else can chime in on a number & their results.

Thank you so much for the suggestion, JaB8199! I call in to the app status line, pressed 3 to get to the status portion, and then pressed 0 until got a live rep. I asked to be transferred but they said they could not. The rep looked up my application and said it is still pending and I will receive more information in writing within 30 days. I asked if there was a credit analyst I could talk to, he said no. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get through to the credit analysts at Bank of America now that they seem to have shut off the numbers in the "Backdoor" thread?

Thanks amdm2013, I tried to call that number, they immediately asked for my credit card account number. When I told them this was for a new card application, they said that was the wrong department and transferred me to the automated status line. Anyone else have a number to try or know what is going wrong here?

Should I say something differently? Do they usually ask for a card number when you call?

I have accounts with them and since my phone number is registered with the bank they are able to pull out my accounts easily when I call from the same numbet, but, dont know for new apps.

I recently had a similar experience with them. I would just say wait it out for now. I applied for the BofA Cash Rewards CC on 3/20 and got the 30 day message. I tried calling the various numbers in the backdoor thread to no avail. 5 days later on the 25th I checked online and saw that I was approved. Called in and got approved with a $2K CL. So I wouldn't be too worried about getting denied and it really doesn't take them too long to make a decision.

Sounds good Santi78342, I will just wait it out. So strange that BoA has put their credit analysts out of reach, even through internal transfer! The only times I had reps tell me they were transferring me to am analyst I was disconnected or transferred to a number that was no longer I'm service. Not a good first service experience with Bank of America, that's for sure! All that said, I will just wait and see what shows up on the site or what I get in the mail.

Yeah, I also tried calling the various backdoor numbers but kept getting "the card services number you have reached is no longer in service" or something along those lines. I would just check 2-3 times a day online and then finally voila! Approved 5 days later. Then you can call in and find out your credit limit as it won't display it online. Good luck with the approval and ill be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I'm guessing they periodically take down backdoor numbers that have become too popular! These were accurate as of January 2014.

Weird. I just called 888-260-4696 and was told to hold for a credit analyst. I hung up cause I'm not ready to talk to them yet.
