Quicksilver for my brother?

Hi all, it's been a while since I've been here. First of all I've got to tell you guys about my credit adventures because people in real life don't care!

I'm closing on my first house early next month!

I just requested a CLI on my Navy Fed Cash Rewards and was approved for a bump from $25,000 to $50,000.

I also applied for the AmEx SPG and was approved for $25,000

I'm excited my available credit is finally over $100,000! Now to stay responsible with so much danger at my fingertips.

Anyway, enough about me. On to my brother. He got his first credit card about a year ago. As far as I know he's been making payments on time and never carries a balance. I think this is the only thing on his credit report. It's a CapitalOne card, I can't remember the name but it's unsecured and very basic. No rewards or anything. Limit is $500 I think.

I'm thinking of recommending the Quicksilver (the no annual fee one) to him. Has anyone heard of people with limited credit histories being approved for it? Or is that a card he should wait on applying for? I'm just afraid of telling him to do the wrong thing and putting an unnecessary HP on his report. This one's a little out there, but does anyone know any American Express cards he might be able to get? The earlier he gets that membership the more it'll help him.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Honestly that never occurred to me. I guess I'll take care of it if it's an issue. Oops.

I didn't think of the PC. I'll bring that up to him. I appreciate it!

There are two QS cards, one for excellent credit and one for average credit.. If he currently has their Platnum card, I would email the EO and ask for an upgrade to the QS card. If he's been making his payments for the past year, they will most likely upgrade him no problem. I had my Platinum card for 13 months and they upgraded me and gave me a CLI.
