AMEX with extra points for Amazon.com Purchases Question

Hello,

I am a frequent Amazon.com shopper. I was wondering which cashback cards from AMEX will get me 2%-6% back from Amazon.com. I've done quite a bit of research through the internet and cannot find a clear answer. Will the Blue Cash Preferred get me 2% or 3% back from Amazon.com? Or if there are other cards, what are they?

Various AMEX and other cards have cashback for supermarkets, and you can buy Amazon gift cards there, and indirectly get the cashback that way.

Thank you for the reponse. I understand that, but I like to see all my transactions on my statement for accounting and budgeting purposes. I'm looking to PC my Delta Skymiles to a AMEX where I can maximize rewards on Amazon purchases directly.

The answer is none. Unless you buy Gift Certificates at Supermarket, Amazon will earn you 1% on all the Amex cards.

This. I don't recall ever seeing anything, anywhere, ever about getting >1% cash back at Amazon via AMEX.

If you're just chasing Amazon cash back your best bet would likely be to pick up the Sallie Mae MasterCard and net 5% back on the first $750 per month you spend on Amazon. As a bonus, the 5% on the fist $250 gas and groceries isn't bad either.

I have an Amex Green and get < 1% on Amazon. There is a thread on Amazon that indicates what Amex points are worth - they are not 1 to 1 like the Amazon Chase card.

OK, two different things being discussed:

1) How much you earn on purchases at Amazon.com. As discussed, this is generally 1 point or 1% for all Amex cards. The Everyday and Everyday Preferred will earn 1.2 and 1.5 if you meet the monthly transaction threshold. Unless you value MR/SPG very highly, 5% with Sallie Mae, (or US Bank etc) will be better.

2) Paying at Amazon with points. Chase UR is 1:1 (as is Amazon Chase) but Amex is less and Citi is 0.8 cents per point.

So the best way to maximize 1) is either to get gift cards at an appropriate store (grocery store with BCP or Blue Cash, Office Supply with Ink) or get one of the 5% cards, but these won't be Amex.
