From what I've gathered here, everything stays the same. You keep your cash back, apr, credit line, account number. Also you are only allowed to go from the BCE to the BCP once the account has been open 13 months, I believe

title says it all. Has anyone completed a product change from the BCE to the BCP?

If so, did your cash back transfer over?

Did your rate stay the same?

I did it the other way, the cashback transfers fine. There was one issue with mine, I had done some supermarket purchases before the conversion, and was assurred it would be credited at the higher (6%) rate. Because of the delay in rewards, when my March statement cut (the first as a BCE) it showed that spend at 3%. Took a few calls to get that sorted out (and not convinced I got it all).

But going in your direction should be fine, and if they make the same mistake it will be to your advantage.

Long time lurker, I see you have the Fidelity AMEX. Which card would you say is your every day user? I have a fedelity account as well but when I think about it, I earn higher with the BCE (soon to be BCP). If I wanted to divert soime of that to my fidelity account each year I could just use the statement credit to pay for something I buy and send the cash I would have spent to the fidelity account. Having both cards, what are your thoughts?

@Anonymous wrote:

I guess I was thinking about the BCP when I product change. The fidelity card is really tempting though. I really don't like juggling cards for different catagories due to my own bad spending habits. I'm trying to get the best all around rewards card for me and my wife as a daily user. For me, the 1% on everything else is a trade off I will probably make.

According to a CSR I spoke to last week you can put in a request to PC from BCE to BCP after the account has been open a minimum of 12 months as it is considered an account upgrade and the PC is limited by federal guidelines.
