My last CLI request on my $4.5k Quicksilver was denied for these reasons:

-Based on the amount of your current credit line(s) with Capital One, your credit score isn't high enough to qualify for an increase. Please see the back of this letter for more details on the determining factors that affect your credit score.
-Recent use of this account's existing credit line has been too low

My EQ FICO, per the denial letter, was 720.

I went the EO route last week and didn't get a dime. Sits at $300, just like it did when I got it in June 2012. They permently waived the AF and refunded last years, so it's not costing me anything. I use it up to the limit with my cable bill and gas and PIF every 2 weeks. No clue what they want.

I dont understand why capital one is not so good to some of you...

am starting to think maybe it is because they only want to deal with people who can not get better cards and therefor give them more credit so they make more in interest ??

I say that because I sit at about a 550 credit score... got a capital one quick silver $300 limit in October of 2013.... called in to EO to "thank them for the 2nd chance" and the EO raised my limit to $1500

In two weeks my credit steps kick in and should see at least another $200 increase if not more... and only have had the card 6 months...

Most people such as OP have way better cards and higher limits that I can not get.... I get turned down by everyone except for Capital One....

Granted I put a lot of money through the quick silver... and PIF several times a month....

So are they stingy or just want to make money off people who can not get any better cards ?

I was using mine for a long while for monthly purchases. then paying it full each month, and they upped me from $1250, I think it was, to $4500 without my asking. Since Ive stopped using it for monthly purchases it has never gone up again so far.

Cap One is a strange animal. I had to wrestle my way into getting my QS1 to $1000 CL, but AMEX was willing to instantly approve my BCE for $1500. I did manage to get a $1500 CL on the Cap One Sony Card, but only after I reconned.

It took me over a year to go from a 1300 to a 3300 limit on my Cap One Platinum, I wish I could turn it into a QS though. The luv button finally worked on my end. It was the card that I usually use until I got my Discover card last year, especially the past 3 months with the 5% back on restuarants and movies. I've been using it alot , but after the first , I'll probably move to my BOA Bass Pro Card, give that a rotation.
