I hope not because I'm doing the same with my new Citi card. I even put my mortgage on it with chargesmart which worked very well. I plan to PIF every two weeks to show I'm not spending money I don't have. I agree, it could look like a bad thing, especially being a new customer with a new card. I think paying it off well before the due date amd making multiple payments per month should be fine.

I pay all my bills by credit card. They are in the business of making money the more you spend the more they make. Also the more rewards I get. Just be sure to pay on time.

One of Barclaycard Rewards perks is 2x points on Utilities, and another perk of the US Bank Cash+ is one of the 5% categories is Cell Phone bill.

I don't see the problem with paying bills with a CC. That is of course, an extra fee is charged that costs more than the reward... would make more sense to pay it a cheaper way.

For those into experimenting, there is a fairly new service called Evolve Money. This allows you to pay bills (up to $1000) to a number of billers, including mortgage companies and auto loans. (For larger payments you can do multiple ones waiting 10 minutes between).

The service is free, but before you get too excited, it doesn't take credit cards. It DOES take debit cards, including gift cards with PINs. You may join up the dots....

Pay the ones I can without a fee. My mortgage, natural gas and electric companies want at least $3.95 per payment to process the payment through a credit/debit card. Not worth the $3.95 per month for me.
