Discover IT card app

What's it mean when it states something like: "we will notify you in 5-7 days of your approval. To expedite this process please call 1-800..."

Should I call the backdoor # in the morning? It had the number but i changed screen and couldn't get back to the number it stated to call. Either way it stated the hours and its too late now anyway.

Yes, call and the number is 1-800-DISCOVER

Yes call them in the morning, it could be one of those calls where they might want to verify your info....hope you get it!

Thanks...we just moved for my new job so maybe it's something like that.

Lol, I wasn't going to app for anything, but I figured since I app'd for the Freedom I may as go ahead for this one as well so the INQ's can age the same.

Also, I just noticed your other thread about your DW just got approved for the same card (IT)....when was she approved? There was a $50 referral bonus for the cardholder & new applicant...don't know if they still offer that....if so, ask the CSR if you are eligible for the referral bonus (if approved).

cool, thanks. She was approved 2 days ago. She received an invitation in the mail.

I tried checking the app status and I got this message:

"We are currently performing regular scheduled maintenance and cannot complete your request at this time. The online application is unavailable daily between 12:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., and Sundays between 12:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time."

I submitted my app around 10pm PST so that was around 1am ET so I wonder if that could've been the issue with my app? Either way I'm calling in the morning. Wish me luck!!

I called the regular customer service number and had them check it out, but they couldn't find the app. I called the backdoor # to recon dept. and they couldn't find it either. She said it sounds like it could've been a system error lastnight during the maintenance times. She asked if I wanted to go ahead and app over the phone and sent me to the app dept. The lady took some of my info and said they had an offer for me (I never see them online when i check) so I app'd....(check the other CC thread for the results)
